Christians in Puducherry Observe All Souls’ Day with Prayers and Floral Tributes

Christians in Puducherry observed All Souls’ Day with special prayers at various cemeteries across the Union Territory today. As part of the observance, devotees offered prayers and paid homage to their departed ancestors at cemeteries in Uppalam, Muthialpet, Uzhavarkarai, Villianur, and Ariyankuppam.

 

The graves were cleaned, decorated with colourful flowers, and illuminated with candles.

All Souls’ Day is one of the important Christian observances held every year on November 2 to remember and pray for departed souls. On this occasion, varieties of flowers, including petros, gerbera, mini rose, chrysanthemum, and rose were brought from Bengaluru, Ooty, and different parts of Tamil Nadu for sale near the cemeteries.
