DMC continues action against shopkeepers trading without wearing masks

Bhilai, Jul 17: On the instructions of District Collector Dr Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure, and Municipal Commissioner Haresh Mandavi, on Saturday the teams of Market department and health Department conducted inspection to see whether the guidelines related to Corona are being followed in the market area.
Due to the fear of Corona third wave, the campaign has been intensified and target is people moving around without wearing masks. The team consisting of Health Officer Durgesh Gupta, In-Charge Market Officer Shiv Sharma, Ishwar Verma, Jasveer Singh Bhuwal, Raju Singh, Mensing Mandavi, Shashikant Yadav , Bhuvandas Sahu visited the public places and market area. During the visit they imposed fine on those found neglecting the rules.
Here it needs a mention that public has become careless and started neglecting the covid appropriate behaviour. People are reaching the market without masks. Shopkeepers are also operating shops without masks and are not instructing the visiting customers to wear masks. Not only this, physical distance is also not being followed often. In view of the fear of the third wave, in such a situation, now the Durg corporation administration has taken to the streets and is running a campaign regarding masks. It is noteworthy that in the past, people had to bear the brunt of negligence. The campaign for masks is being intensified from Durg city to the market area. In this episode, action was taken by campaigning against such shopkeepers in Durg who were operating shops without wearing masks particularly in Indira Market area, Gandhi Chowk, Shanichari Bazaar etc. Action was taken against 51 people, in which a fine of Rs 4,300 was recovered. In this regard, the Municipal Commissioner has appealed that if people continue to be careless, then we will not be able to prevent the third wave of Corona from coming. It is the responsibility of all of us to follow Corona guidelines and social distance. If we do not take lessons from the past, then surely we will face a terrible situation because of our mistakes. Further appealing to the general public and shopkeepers, Commissioner Haresh Madavi said that without wearing a mask, do not go to the shop and market. Follow the distance of two yards and the mask. Adequate advice was given in this regard earlier also.
