World in ‘Worrisome’ Situation, India Moving Ahead with Confidence: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said the world is passing through “worrisome” circumstances due to ongoing conflicts, while asserting that India is confronting these challenges with confidence and resilience.
Addressing the TV9 Network Summit, the Prime Minister noted that global tensions, including the situation in West Asia, are having a widespread impact across countries. He said that in a world increasingly divided into competing blocs, India has worked to build bridges and strengthen partnerships.
“From the Gulf to the Global West, from the Global South to neighbouring countries, India is a trusted partner for all,” he said. Emphasising India’s independent stance, the Prime Minister added, “We are with India, with India’s interests, with peace and dialogue.”
Highlighting India’s economic trajectory, the Prime Minister said the country is progressing rapidly and has moved beyond pre-2014 conditions with renewed confidence. “India today does not avoid challenges, but faces them head-on,” he stated.
Referring to the period after the Covid pandemic, the Prime Minister said that successive global disruptions have tested nations year after year. Despite this, he noted, India has continued to move forward through collective effort and unity.
He further said that amid global supply chain disruptions, India has adopted a strategy of diversification and resilience to safeguard key sectors such as energy, fertilisers, and essential commodities. This approach, he said, has helped minimise the impact on citizens.
The Prime Minister also highlighted India’s response in recent weeks, stating that the country has demonstrated its capabilities in relationship-building, decision-making, and crisis management, even in adverse global conditions.
He added that India’s policy approach and strategic decisions have drawn attention globally, with several countries closely observing its handling of ongoing challenges.
