Tree cutting procedure to be simplified to promote plantation

To encourage farmers to plant timberwood, bamboo, etc, the administration is going to simplify the permission process of cutting trees. In-charge Secretary Siddharth Komal Pardesi gave these instructions during a meeting of officers in Patan block. He said that the present process of permission for cutting trees is a bit complicated, due to which farmers are hesitant to do plantation. With the simplified process, farmers will come forward to take advantage of Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana on a large scale. Pardesi said that farmers are now trying to move forward in the direction of diversification of crops. Farmers can take crops in all three ways under Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana. That is, instead of paddy, they can take pulses and oilseeds, they can plant fruit trees or can also do plantation for timber wood.
By practicing different types of farming in some parts of the field, the benefit of the government’s scheme will also be better and the return of crops will also improve. There will be no risk due to the availability of insurance scheme. Collector Dr Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure said that all the local staff in all the three blocks in the district have been directed to inform the people regarding the scheme and identify the beneficiaries.
The team of Agriculture Expansion Officer, Patwari, Employment Assistant, Beat Guard etc is meeting the villagers and identifying the beneficiaries by giving information about the scheme. Secretary in-charge also reviewed the status of fertilizers and seeds. He said that if farmers are inclined towards crop diversification, the officials must ensure the quality of fertilizer and seeds according to their needs. He also inquired about the status of sale of compost manure and works being done on the renovation of nullahs. Chief Minister’s OSD Ashish Verma was also present in the meeting. District Panchayat CEO Sachchidanand Alok, SDM Vipul Gupta, Janpad CEO Manish Sahu were also present.
Secretary in-charge questioned the officials about the status of implementation of the schemes. Officials informed that farmers are asking the most about paddy of good fragrance as they get good price for it and many of them want to cultivate it for personal consumption. Secretary in-charge said that small farmers as well as big farmers should also be prepared for crop diversification as they can adopt all forms of crop diversity due to having sufficient fields.
Secretary in charge saw various construction works going on in Patan block. Apart from schools, he inspected the schemes of lift irrigation and implementation of the schemes of Jal Jeevan Mission.
He instructed the officials to complete the construction works within the stipulated time frame.
