Shri Jhanda Ji Mela reflects tradition and devotion: CM Dhami

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami extended greetings to the people of the state on Sunday on the occasion of the historic Shri Jhanda Ji Mela in Dehradun.
In a post on X, Dhami highlighted the historical and spiritual significance of the fair, which is organised every year to mark the birth anniversary of Shri Guru Ram Rai Ji.
According to the Uttarakhand Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the fair reflects the region’s rich traditions and deep-rooted faith.
“Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami has extended greetings to all residents of the state on the occasion of the historic Jhanda Mela in Dehradun. The sacred Shri Jhanda Ji Mela, celebrated every year on the auspicious birth anniversary of Shri Guru Ram Rai Ji, embodies unique traditions rooted in humanity and devotion. This fair is also a symbol of faith and belief,” the CMO said.
The Chief Minister said the fair represents not only the cultural heritage of Uttarakhand but also the spirit of mutual love and harmony among people.
He added that the teachings and messages of Shri Guru Ram Rai Ji Maharaj continue to hold relevance in the present time.
Earlier, Dhami also extended greetings to the people of the state, particularly women, on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
According to the CMO, the Chief Minister said that women in Uttarakhand have always symbolised hard work, sacrifice and dedication, and have played a key role in the development of the state and strengthening its social fabric.
He added that the state government is working continuously to ensure the dignity, safety and empowerment of women. Dhami also noted that several welfare schemes for women are being implemented by both the central and state governments under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. (ANI)
