Seychelles President Patrick Herminie to visit India from Feb 5 to 10

Seychelles President Dr. Patrick Herminie will be on a state visit to India from February 5 to 10 at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This will be Herminie’s first visit to India since assuming office in October 2025. The visit coincides with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

During his visit to India, Herminie will meet President Droupadi Murmu and hold discussions with PM Modi on bilateral, regional, and international issues of mutual interest. He will also visit Chennai and Mumbai to attend business events.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Seychelles is a key maritime neighbour of India in the Indian Ocean region and occupies a special place in India’s Vision MAHASAGAR (Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions), as well as in India’s broader commitment to the Global South.

The visit of President Herminie to India, following the Vice President CP Radhakrishnan’s visit to Seychelles in October 2025, is expected to lend further momentum to wide-ranging cooperation and robust people to people ties between the two countries.
