Sensex slips 243 points, Nifty down 62 –
The benchmark domestic equity indices, Sensex and Nifty, were trading with modest losses in the forenoon trade today, amid cautious sentiment following escalating geopolitical concerns and mixed global cues. On the sectoral front, barring auto, consumer durables, and select telecommunication stocks, all other sectors were trading with cuts. The 30-share BSE Sensex slipped 243 points to 81,340 and the NSE Nifty50 fell 62 points to 24,792, when reports last came in.
