Sensex falls 687 points, Nifty slips 212 amid geopolitical tensions –
The Benchmark domestic equity indices, Sensex and Nifty, were trading over 0.8 per cent down in the forenoon trade today, mirroring losses across Asian markets amid escalating geopolitical tensions. On the sectoral front, only IT managed to hold gains, while all other sectors were trading with cuts. The 30-share BSE Sensex lost 687 points to 81,005 and the NSE Nifty50 slipped 212 points to 24,677, when reports last came in.
