Rajya Sabha adjourned until 12 noon after opposition uproar over deportation of Indians

Both Houses of Parliament were adjourned until noon after opposition parties protested over the issue of the deportation of Indian nationals from the United States of America. In Lok Sabha, as soon as the House met, opposition parties, including the Congress, Samajwadi Party, Trinamool Congress, and others, started sloganeering and demanded a discussion on the issue. Congress had moved an adjournment motion in this regard earlier. The Speaker, Om Birla, said that the matter pertains to a foreign nation and urged the protesting members to let the House function normally. However, the opposition members were unrelenting and continued protesting and sloganeering in the House. Amid the pandemonium, the Speaker adjourned the lower House until noon.
Meanwhile, as soon as the proceedings began in Rajya Sabha, the opposition members started protesting and demanded a discussion on the deportation issue. Amid the continued ruckus, Deputy Chairman Harivansh adjourned the Upper House until noon.
