Raipur: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai directs provision of ₹5 lakh each to the families of deceased workers from Kondagaon district and ₹50,000 each to the injured following the Chamoli tunnel accident

Raipur: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic deaths of four workers from Kondagaon district in an incident in which a tunnel under construction in Chamoli, Uttarakhand, was flooded. The Chief Minister has directed that financial assistance of ₹5 lakh each be provided to the families of the deceased workers and ₹50,000 each to the two workers injured in the accident.

The accident claimed the lives of four workers from Kondagaon district—two from Dhansuli village, one from Madnar, and one from Dahikonga—while two other workers from the district sustained injuries. The mortal remains of the deceased workers were brought to Kondagaon, where their last rites were performed in the presence of their family members.

Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that the State Government stands firmly with the bereaved families during this difficult time and will extend all possible assistance to them.

The Chief Minister also prayed to the Almighty to grant peace to the departed souls and strength to the bereaved families to endure this immense loss. He further wished the two injured workers a speedy and complete recovery.
