Public reps flag off ‘Jagrookta Rath’

Khairagarh, Nov 16:
The ‘awareness chariot’ (Jagrookta Rath) of Bal Suraksha Saptah (child safety week) was flagged off by District Panchayat member Viplav Sahu, Founder of Shantidoot Sansthan and DCC spokesman Anurag Shanti Turre, BMO Dr Vivek Bisen, Dr Pankaj Vaishnav and student Rusheel Meghawini Turre. This was flagged off from Civil Hospital.
As per instructions by the Collector and President District Control Committee Taran Prakash Sinha, State Prog Officer Dr Subhash Mishra, CMO Dr Mithilesh Choudhary, District Health and Nodal officer Blindness Prevention Dr MK Bhuarya, ‘Bal Netra Suraskah Saptah’ campaign was launched at Civil Hospital, Khairagarh. The eye testing team from Civil Hospital Khairagarh would reach out to school children in the block headquarters of Khairagarh and examine their eyes and create awareness about eye safety.
In this campaign to be carried out from Nov 14-20, the senior Ophthalmologist Asst. Officer Durg Nandini Shrivastava, Poornima Chandel, Devangan and from ‘Chirayu team’ – Dr Neha Sahu, Dr Laxminarayan Mandavi, Dr Raghuvir Singh, Santosh Dewangan and Bharti Nirmalkar and other staff from ‘Chirayu’ would render their services. Apart from this field health conveners too will extend their support and would give information to school students about regular eye check-up and would also offer free-of-cost treatment for any eye related ailment.
The students found with shortsightedness or farsightedness would be examined and given treatment and would also be provided free of cost spectacles through District Control Committee Civil Hospital Khairagarh Hospital. Under this eye safety awareness week, variety of competitions too will be organised in the schools through students, informs Dr Nandini Shrivastava of Eye Department at the inauguration. On this o ccasion Aakash Kanouje, Shefali Singh, Bhuneshwari Kaushik, Kamlesh Sahu, Priti Rajak, Pranay Bansod, Vinod Verma and other public representatives and social workers, journalists and citizens were present.
