President Murmu to visit Madhya Pradesh, Odisha from June 18

 

President Droupadi Murmu will undertake a five-day visit to Madhya Pradesh and Odisha from June 18 to 22, during which she will participate in a series of official, social welfare and public outreach programmes.

The President will begin her visit in Betul, Madhya Pradesh, on June 18 by attending a programme on the empowerment of tribal society through spiritual awakening, organised by the Brahma Kumaris.

On June 19, she will participate in International Sickle Cell Day celebrations at Omkareshwar before travelling to her hometown Rairangpur in Odisha, where she will inaugurate a medical camp organised by AIIMS Bhubaneswar and several development projects, including a rural piped water supply scheme, Matrushakti Bhavan, a special circuit house and a police district facility.

On June 20, President Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Pahadpur, where they are scheduled to inspect a school and skill centre and interact with beneficiaries and children. The President and the Prime Minister will later attend a public programme in Rairangpur.

On June 21, the President will take part in International Yoga Day celebrations and attend the 36th convocation ceremony of Rani Durgavati University in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.

The visit will conclude on June 22 with an interaction at Kuno National Park, where the President will meet members of the Sahariya tribe, cheetah trackers, tourist guides and the Kuno field team.
