President Murmu calls for collective action to eliminate tuberculosis on eve of World TB Day

President Droupadi Murmu on Monday urged all stakeholders to work together with renewed resolve to eliminate tuberculosis, ahead of World TB Day on March 24.

In her message on the eve of World TB Day, the President highlighted that tuberculosis continues to remain a major public health challenge, affecting millions of people globally. At the same time, she noted that India has made significant strides in tackling the disease through sustained efforts under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.

She emphasized that the initiative has led to notable progress in early diagnosis, provision of free treatment, improved nutritional support, and enhanced patient care. She said these achievements reflect the country’s strong commitment and the effectiveness of the National TB Elimination Programme.

Expressing optimism, President Murmu called for greater collaboration among all stakeholders to build on the progress achieved so far. She underlined that a united and determined approach is essential to eradicate tuberculosis completely.
