Poshan Pakhwada 2026: Preschool initiative in Andhra Pradesh promotes early nutrition awareness
A unique initiative under Poshan Pakhwada 2026 saw preschool children in Andhra Pradesh actively participate in a Graduation Day celebration centred on nutrition awareness. The programme was held in the Ongole Project of Prakasam district, where young children were encouraged to understand and communicate the importance of healthy eating habits.
Through interactive activities and engaging sessions, the children highlighted the benefits of consuming fresh vegetables and raised awareness about the potential health risks linked to preservative-rich foods. The initiative aimed to instil the value of balanced diets at an early age while also involving caregivers and the wider community in reinforcing healthy dietary practices.
The event effectively blended early childhood education with nutrition awareness, aligning with the broader goals of Poshan Pakhwada, which focuses on improving nutritional outcomes and driving behavioural change at the grassroots level.
The Ministry of Women and Child Development continues to promote community-driven and innovative approaches under Poshan Abhiyaan to ensure better health and nutrition for children, women and adolescents across the country.
