PM Modi to inaugurate 103 redeveloped stations tomorrow –

Excitement is building as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate 103 redeveloped railway stations across 18 States and Union Territories tomorrow, under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Mahe Railway Station, located in the Union Territory of Puducherry, is one of the stations included in this major redevelopment initiative.
Under the scheme, Mahe Station has been equipped with enhanced passenger facilities such as a newly constructed waiting room, upgraded toilet block, and improved platform shelters. For better accessibility and circulation, a new entrance porch and second entry have been developed, along with dedicated parking zones for two and four-wheelers spread over 7,000 square metres.
The upgrade includes Divyangjan-friendly amenities such as accessible toilets and pathways, improved lighting, and additional signage. Aesthetic features like vertical gardens, stainless steel name boards, compound wall beautification, and KOTA stone flooring have also been added.
In terms of commuter facilities, the station now has 120 new concrete/metallic benches, 40 additional mobile charging points, 21 new water points, and 80 dustbins. Drainage improvements and platform resurfacing have also been carried out as part of the comprehensive upgrade.
