PM Modi speaks with Qatar Amir, condemns attacks on energy infrastructure

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday held a telephonic conversation with the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, during which the two leaders discussed the evolving situation in West Asia and regional security concerns.
Prime Minister Modi conveyed warm Eid greetings to the Amir and the people of Qatar, and reaffirmed India’s solidarity with the country amid the ongoing developments in the region.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said he had conveyed Eid greetings to the Amir and reiterated India’s solidarity with Qatar. He also highlighted India’s strong condemnation of attacks on energy infrastructure and expressed hope for peace and stability in the region.
During the discussion, the Prime Minister strongly condemned the recent attacks on energy infrastructure in the Gulf, describing them as a matter of serious concern.
He also expressed appreciation for the care and support extended by Qatar to the Indian community residing in the country.
Both leaders underscored the importance of ensuring peace and stability in the region and affirmed their shared commitment to maintaining safe and free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
