PM Modi shares highlights from inauguration of India AI Impact Expo 2026

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated the India AI Impact Expo 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, describing it as a powerful convergence of ideas, innovation and intent that showcases India’s growing leadership in Artificial Intelligence.

Sharing highlights of the inauguration on X, the Prime Minister said the Expo reflected the extraordinary potential of Indian talent in shaping the future of AI for global good.

“India AI Impact Expo 2026 was a powerful convergence of ideas, innovation and intent. It showcased the extraordinary potential of Indian talent in shaping the future of Artificial Intelligence for global good. Above all, it reaffirmed our commitment to harnessing AI responsibly, inclusively and at scale for human progress,” he said.

In another post, the Prime Minister noted that being among innovators, researchers and technology enthusiasts offered a glimpse into the transformative potential of AI and Indian innovation. “Together, we will shape solutions not just for India but for the world,” he added.

The 5-day India AI Impact Summit, being held from February 16 to 20, is spread across 10 arenas covering more than 70,000 square metres. It serves as a national demonstration of AI in action – where policy meets practice, innovation meets scale, and technology reaches the everyday citizen.

The Summit has brought together global technology firms, startups, academia, research institutions, Union Ministries, State Governments and international partners. It features 13 country pavilions representing Australia, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Serbia, Estonia, Tajikistan and Africa, underscoring the global nature of AI collaboration.

More than 300 curated exhibition pavilions and live demonstrations are structured around three thematic ‘chakras’ – People, Planet and Progress – reflecting India’s vision of technology serving humanity and sustainable development.

Over 600 high-potential startups are participating, many of them presenting globally relevant and population-scale solutions already deployed in real-world settings. The event is expected to attract more than 2.5 lakh visitors, including international delegates.

The Summit will host over 500 sessions featuring more than 3,250 speakers and panelists from across sectors. Discussions will focus on the transformative impact of AI across industries and explore pathways to ensure that AI benefits every global citizen.
