Normal OPD services to resume in state tomorrow

Raipur, Jun 01: The health department today ordered for resumption of Non COVID emergency and normal services in hospitals with the decline in the cases of Coronavirus infection. The number of reserved beds for COVID patients in private hospitals has been reduced from 70% to 20%.
Director Health Services today issued instructions in this regard to district collectors. With this order all the normal OPD services and non COVID services would be resumed in hospitals from June 2 onwards. According to report of Monday night the COVID positivity rate in the state was below 4%.
Earleir most of OPD services in government and private hospitals were shut due to rise in cases of Coronavirus infection in the state. OPD services in Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Hospital Raipur were also affected due to increasing cases of COVID infection.
With outbreak of COVID pandemic in the state the government had initially reserved 20% of the beds in private hospitals of the state for corona patients. With increase in the cases of COVID infection the number of reserved beds was further increased to 50% and later to 70%. Later, it was also instructed to add oxygen facility with 50%. With new order the number of reserved beds is now being reduced to 20%.
Meanwhile the government also started closing down COVID care centres. Mana COVID Care Centre is once again being turned into Civil Hospital. Lalpur COVID centre and makeshift COVID Care Centre in Indoor Stadium of Raipur too have been closed. Meanwhile the state government stepped up efforts to tackle the possible third wave of COVID pandemic.
