Joint Secretary in I&B Ministry Ashutosh Mohle addresses XR Creator Hackathon

Joint Secretary of the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, Ashutosh Mohle, underscored the need to pursue original research and out-of-the-box thinking to progress in technological sectors like Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, and Extended Reality.

 

 

He was speaking at the XR Creator Hackathon – Delhi meetup held in Noida today. The Ministry of I&B, in association with WAVES-2025 and the Create in India Challenge, has organized the XR Creator Hackathon – Delhi Meetup.

 

 

Speaking about the XR Creator Hackathon, the Joint Secretary said various challenges being held as part of WAVES-2025, like the XR Creator Challenge, will enhance prospects for youngsters in the country in the years to come. He said the awareness about the rising industries and unlimited opportunities is spreading through various platforms of WAVES 2025.

 

Interacting with participants of the Hackathon, Co-founder of Arexa and Bharat XR, Chhavi Garg, said there are huge prospects in Extended and Virtual Reality areas. Over 2,200 enthusiasts initially participated in the Hackathon, and 40 have been shortlisted for the final competition. These participants are working on solutions related to health, tourism, and many other areas.
