Jan Samarth Portal Processes Over ₹1 Lakh Crore in Loan Applications

The government’s Jan Samarth portal has processed more than 41 lakh loan applications amounting to ₹1,06,306 crore since its launch, with banks granting digital approvals to over 35 lakh beneficiaries worth ₹84,365.55 crore, according to official data released on Monday.
Launched on June 6, 2022, the Jan Samarth portal serves as a national platform for credit-linked government schemes, aimed at improving access to institutional credit and streamlining the loan application process through a digital interface.
The portal currently hosts 15 credit-linked schemes spanning sectors such as agriculture, renewable energy, business, livelihoods and housing. It integrates multiple stakeholders, including beneficiaries, financial institutions and government agencies, to enable seamless credit delivery.
As of March 20, 2026, a total of 254 lending institutions have been onboarded on the platform. These include 12 public sector banks, 20 private sector banks, 28 regional rural banks, 173 district central cooperative banks, 15 non-banking financial companies and six small finance banks.
Officials said the portal functions as a digital marketplace, offering a single-window facility for applying to multiple schemes. It allows users to check eligibility, receive in-principle sanction and track applications in real time without the need for repeated visits to bank branches.
The platform uses advanced analytics and integrates with various databases, including those of the Income Tax Department, GST network, UIDAI and credit bureaus, to enable faster processing and verification of applications.
Applicants can complete the process in four steps—checking eligibility, submitting applications online, selecting lenders and receiving digital approvals, and tracking the application status.
The portal is available in eight languages and also provides assisted access through banking correspondents. It can be accessed via a dedicated website and mobile applications on both Android and iOS platforms.
The government said the initiative is aimed at promoting inclusive growth by ensuring that individuals and businesses can easily access appropriate credit schemes. More central and state government schemes are expected to be integrated into the platform in the coming period.
A dedicated grievance redressal mechanism is also in place to address issues faced by beneficiaries and participating banks, ensuring timely resolution and improved service delivery.
The Jan Samarth portal brings together schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, Kisan Credit Card, PM SVANidhi, PMEGP and rooftop solar financing under a unified digital framework to enhance ease of doing business and financial inclusion.
