India’s Taipei Open Run Ends as Ayush Shetty and Unnati Hooda Fall in Semis –

In badminton, India’s challenge at the Taipei Open ended after Ayush Shetty and Unnati Hooda lost their respective semi-final matches in the singles event today.

 

The 20-year-old Ayush Shetty pushed top seed Chou Tien-chen of Chinese Taipei in a tightly contested semi-final clash of the men’s singles but eventually lost 21-18, 21-17 in 42 minutes.

 

In the women’s singles, 17-year-old Unnati Hooda also impressed before falling to top seed Tomoka Miyazaki of Japan 21-19, 21-11 in the last-four game.

 

The Indian badminton players will be next seen in action at the Thailand Open BWF Super 500 event starting in Bangkok on Tuesday.
