Indian carriers IndiGo, Air India continue limited Middle East flights amid rising tensions
Amid the evolving situation in the Middle East, Indian carriers IndiGo and Air India on Sunday said they would operate a limited number of flights while urging passengers to remain alert to last-minute changes and check their flight status before leaving for the airport.
IndiGo said it would run select services on March 22, adding that its teams were working round the clock to assist passengers amid the uncertainty. The airline stressed that all operations were aligned with prevailing safety conditions and regulatory approvals.
Meanwhile, Air India and Air India Express said they would jointly operate around 50 scheduled and special flights to and from West Asia. Regular services will continue to key destinations such as Jeddah and Muscat, with additional non-scheduled flights planned for routes to the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, subject to approvals and on-ground conditions.
The airlines said these special operations would depend on slot availability and necessary permissions from Indian and local authorities, as the situation continues to remain fluid.
