India, UAE push for supply chain stability and stronger trade ties amid regional tensions

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal held a virtual meeting with UAE Minister of Foreign Trade Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi on Friday, with both sides emphasising the need to restore stability and ensure continuity in supply chains amid ongoing regional uncertainties.
During the interaction, Goyal welcomed the recent ceasefire in the region and expressed hope that it would pave the way for lasting peace and stability. He highlighted the importance of uninterrupted trade flows in sustaining strong economic relations between India and the United Arab Emirates.
The minister also conveyed India’s support for the UAE while condemning recent attacks in the country. He thanked the Emirati leadership for its continued assistance to the Indian diaspora during the period of uncertainty.
Both leaders acknowledged the strain on regional supply chains and stressed the need for coordinated efforts to maintain smooth trade operations. Goyal appreciated the UAE’s proactive steps, including the development of alternate logistics routes and multimodal transport systems to minimise disruptions.
He also outlined India’s measures to support exporters and ensure the uninterrupted supply of essential goods, reinforcing the country’s role as a reliable trade partner.
The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of both nations to further strengthen the India–UAE economic partnership through sustained engagement and closer cooperation, even as geopolitical challenges continue to impact the region.
