India showcases maritime security leadership at World Border Security Congress in Vienna

India highlighted its growing leadership in maritime security and reaffirmed its commitment to global cooperation at the World Border Security Congress 2026 held in Vienna from April 14 to 16.
A three-member Indian delegation, led by Additional Director General Anand Prakash Badola, represented the country at the international forum, presenting India’s best practices in safeguarding maritime boundaries.
During the conference, India showcased its experience in managing complex maritime challenges, including surveillance, coordination among agencies, and the use of technology to secure vast coastal areas.
The World Border Security Congress, established in 2012, is regarded as a premier global platform that brings together senior government officials, security experts and industry leaders. It facilitates discussions on emerging challenges, technological advancements and best practices in border and maritime security.
