India has entered into new era of Public Health & govt is focusing on enhancing universal health coverage: Anupriya Patel

Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Anupriya Patel said, India has entered into new era of Public Health and the government is focusing on enhancing universal health coverage. Addressing the 48th Annual Day Celebrations of the National Institute of Health and Family Welfare in New Delhi today, she said, the government is making healthcare accessible and affordable to the people. She said, the government is strengthening primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare services  in the country. She also said, the number of medical colleges in the country has increased by 101 per cent  from 380 in 2014 to 787 in 2024. The Minister added that the number AIIMS has also increased from six to 22 across the country.
