India Dominates World Boxing Cup, Advances to Semifinals in All 20 Categories

India delivered a dominant performance at the World Boxing Cup finals in Greater Noida on Monday, as hosts stormed into the semifinals across all 20 event categories. In the men’s 70 kg quarterfinals, Hitesh Gulia stunned former world champion Sewon Okazawa of Japan to reach semifinals. Jadumani Singh continued the momentum, outclassing Kazakhstan’s Nurzat Ongarov with a clean 5-0 unanimous decision in the men’s 50 kg category.

 

Naveen Kumar clinched another unanimous decision victory, defeating Kazakhstan’s Bekzat Tangatar to advance from the men’s 90 kg quarterfinals. In the men’s 55 kg category, Pawan Bartwal reached the semifinals after taking down second seed Altynbek Nursultan of Kazakhstan. Sumit Kundu overpowered Korea’s Kim Hyeon-tae with a commanding 5-0 unanimous decision to advance into the men’s 75 kg semifinals.

 

India is now guaranteed medals in across all 20 weight categories at the world boxing cup finals.
