India AI Impact Summit 2026 wraps up with awards, cultural showcase as Vaishnaw calls it world’s largest AI gathering
The second day of the India AI Impact Summit 2026 concluded on Monday with an awards ceremony recognising artificial intelligence innovations addressing national and global challenges, followed by a cultural programme celebrating India’s artistic and cultural diversity, according to an official statement.
The awards recognised winners across three flagship initiatives — AI by HER, AI for ALL and YuvaAI — highlighting the summit’s focus on inclusive innovation, large-scale societal impact and youth participation in India’s artificial intelligence ecosystem. A defining theme of the summit was the empowerment of unconventional innovators and non-traditional coders to develop solutions for real-world challenges through hackathons and open innovation platforms, enabling participation from the grassroots level and encouraging communities to build scalable, people-centric AI solutions.
Congratulating the winners of the global innovation challenges, Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Information and Broadcasting and Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw said the India AI Impact Summit had emerged as the world’s largest AI summit, reflecting the scale and ambition of India’s AI vision. Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology and Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada said the YuvaAI initiative reflected the vision that young people are central to India’s AI journey, adding that initiatives such as AI by HER demonstrate the importance of inclusion in shaping the country’s AI future.
The YuvaAI – Global Youth Challenge, implemented in partnership with MyBharat and NIELIT, invited innovators aged 13 to 21 years to develop AI-based solutions for real-world problems. Under the challenge, Paraspeak, AgniSena and Z-TRACS won first prizes and grants of ₹15 lakh each, while CytoScanZ, WAYV and VOX-AID received second prizes of ₹10 lakh each. MalariaX and KedovoAI were awarded special recognition grants of ₹5 lakh each.
The AI by HER Challenge recognised women-led teams developing AI-driven solutions across sectors such as health diagnostics, nutrition, learning platforms, speech therapy, ESG intelligence and MSME enablement. Farmer Lifeline won the challenge, followed by Periwinkle Technologies as first runner-up, with Volar Alta and Remidio named joint second runners-up. Each of the top winners received grants of ₹25 lakh, while an additional aggregate grant of ₹10 lakh was awarded to selected teams from the top 10 shortlisted startups.
Under the AI for ALL: Global Impact Challenge, the top 10 selected solutions included Infiheal Healthtech Private Limited, EQUITWIN by Infiuss Health, One Global Medical Technology Limited (dba Helium Health), Resilience360, SatSure’s Farm Score for Climate-Smart Lending, Wysa’s conversational AI for mental health, Kidaura Innovations Pvt Ltd, MadhuNetrAI for diabetic retinopathy screening, CarbGeM Inc., and Biome Makers Inc.’s BeCrop® soil intelligence platform, with each team receiving a grant of ₹25 lakh. The solutions span high-impact areas including healthcare diagnostics, climate-resilient agriculture, financial inclusion, mental health support and soil intelligence.
The awards ceremony was followed by a cultural programme featuring “Nṛtta Melakam,” a dance presentation by the Sangeet Natak Akademi, which brought together artists from multiple Indian states and showcased the country’s folk and classical traditions, reflecting themes of unity, inclusiveness and national development.
