IMD issues orange alert for heavy rainfall in Northeast

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall over Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh today. The weather agency predicted heavy rainfall conditions over Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, and Sikkim today. The Met Department estimated light to moderate rainfall conditions over the Himalayan region, Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Telangana during the next 6 days. The IMD predicted similar conditions over the west, east, and central parts of the country during the next 5-6 days.
