IMD Forecasts Heavy Rainfall in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, AP, Kerala, and Mahe Until Tomorrow

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall at isolated places over Tamil Nadu, Pudducherry, Karaikal, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Mahe till tomorrow. The Met department has forecast thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds at isolated places over Andaman and Nicobar Islands for the next two to three days.  IMD has said that cold wave conditions are likely to prevail in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Vidarbha till tomorrow.

 

Meanwhile, the air quality in Delhi-NCR continues to be in the very poor category, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 373 recorded at 7 PM today.  The AQI levels were recorded in places over Anand Vihar at 396, Chandni Chowk at 384, R K Puram at 380 and IGI Airport at 316. 

 

In view of the poor air quality, the Commission for Air Quality Management has imposed Stage III of the Graded Response Action Plan in the national capital and adjoining areas.
