IMD forecasts heavy rain in northeast, thunderstorms across India –

The India Meteorological Department has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim today. According to IMD, thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds and lightning are expected over Northwest, Central, East and South Peninsular India today. IMD has said that thunderstorms accompanied by hailstorms are very likely expected at isolated places of Assam, Meghalaya and Punjab.

 

The weather department has predicted heat wave conditions at isolated places over Bihar, West Bengal and Sikkim. The agency has also forecast hot and humid weather-like conditions over Jharkhand, Kerala, Mahe, Tamilnadu and Puducherry. The met department has said that there will be a gradual rise in maximum temperatures by 2-3 degrees Celsius over Central India during the next 7 days.
