IEPFA partners with Prasar Bharati for investor awareness campaign
The Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority (IEPFA), functioning under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with public broadcaster Prasar Bharati to strengthen investor awareness initiatives across the country through informative scroll messages on Doordarshan’s national and regional channels.
The MoU signing event was presided over by Anita Shah Akella, CEO of IEPFA and Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, who highlighted the importance of collaborative outreach efforts in promoting financial literacy and investor awareness. She said the use of trusted public broadcasting platforms such as Doordarshan would help critical information related to investor protection, unclaimed dividends and shares, and safe investing practices reach a wider audience, including people in remote and underserved regions.
The agreement was formally signed by Lt. Col. Aditya Sinha, General Manager, IEPFA, and Sanjay Prasad, Deputy Director General, Prasar Bharati (Sales). The collaboration aims to utilise Prasar Bharati’s extensive network to disseminate key information related to reclaiming unclaimed dividends and shares transferred to the Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority.
Under the initiative, awareness scrolls will be broadcast across Doordarshan channels to ensure broader accessibility. The campaign will also encourage investors to use facilities such as the Search Facility and submit claims through Form IEPF-5, while spreading awareness about fraud prevention and safe investment practices.
The Ministry said the partnership reflects IEPFA’s continued commitment to building an informed investor community and promoting financial inclusion through collaboration with key public institutions.
