Grenade-like object thrown at senior BJP leader Manoranjan Kalia’s residence –

In Punjab, a grenade-like object was thrown at the residence of senior BJP leader and former minister Manoranjan Kalia in Jalandhar late last night. Kalia, who was at home at the time, escaped unscathed. Speaking to our Jalandhar correspondent, Mr. Kalia said that, according to CCTV footage, the assailant arrived on an e-rickshaw and threw the grenade at his home.       Jalandhar Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur, who arrived at the scene with police teams after the explosion, said that an investigation is underway. Forensic teams are also working to determine the type of material or object used in the blast.
