Floods Impact 1.72 Lakh People in Uttar Pradesh; Relief Operations Intensify

In Uttar Pradesh, flood relief and rescue operations have intensified across the state. Floods have affected 48 tehsils in 21 districts, impacting over 1.72 lakh people in the state. According to Relief Commissioner Bhanu Chandra Goswami, till now more than 38 thousand people have been shifted to safer places. Relief materials are being delivered to the affected areas with the help of 1,196 boats and motorboats. A total of 959 flood shelters have been set up for the flood-affected areas. Along with this, 1,277 flood posts are monitoring the situation in the affected areas.

In view of heavy rainfall and flood situation, schools were closed in Jaunpur, Farukhabad, Pilibhit, Bareilly and Prayagraj today.
