Finland President Alexander Stubb arrives in India on state visit; to keynote Raisina Dialogue

Finland President Alexander Stubb arrived in New Delhi on Wednesday on a state visit to India and was accorded a ceremonial welcome on arrival.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Stubb received a guard of honour and was welcomed at the airport by Minister of State for External Affairs V. K. Singh.
In a post on X, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “A warm welcome to India! President Alexander Stubb of the Republic of Finland has arrived in New Delhi on a state visit to India.”
Stubb is scheduled to be the chief guest and keynote speaker at the 11th edition of the Raisina Dialogue, India’s flagship conference on geopolitics and geo-economics, to be held in New Delhi from March 5 to 7.
During the visit, Stubb will hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and discussing regional and global issues of mutual interest. Prime Minister Modi will also host a luncheon in honour of the Finnish President.
Stubb is also scheduled to meet President Droupadi Murmu, Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.
According to the MEA, the visit includes a high-level delegation comprising ministers, senior officials and business leaders, and is aimed at expanding cooperation between the two countries across several sectors.
After engagements in New Delhi, Stubb will travel to Mumbai, where he will meet Maharashtra Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. He is also scheduled to interact with business leaders and address students at the University of Mumbai.
India and Finland share a warm and multifaceted relationship anchored in shared democratic values. Finland is an important partner for India within the European Union and the Nordic region.
Stubb’s visit follows the recent trip of Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo to India for the AI Impact Summit in February.
