ED raids 11 locations in MP over ₹49 crore liquor scam –

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is conducting searches at 11 premises of liquor contractors in Bhopal, Indore, and Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh. The investigation follows an FIR alleging a loss of over 49 crore rupees to government revenue due to forgery and manipulation of treasury challans between 2015 and 2018. The investigations revealed that contractors allegedly prepared challans with small amounts, leaving blank spaces in “Rs. in Words,” and later filled in higher amounts, submitting altered copies to warehouses or excise offices. The ED is probing the scam to uncover its extent and identify those involved.
