Drug dealers cannot distribute Posaconazole and Amphotericin B

Raipur, May 18: In view of the increasing cases of black fungus infection in the state, the Food and Drug Administration Department has instructed all wholesale drug dealers to inform the department about the distribution of Posaconazole and Amphotericin B used in its treatment. The Controller, Food and Drug Administration has issued circulars in this regard to all wholesale drug dealers.
The department has stated in the circular that at present the infection of black fungus is increasing in Chhattisgarh. The rational delivery of the drug Posaconazole and Amphotericin B is essential for its prevention. For this, all the licensed wholesale drug dealers of the state are directed not to distribute these two medicines without informing the Food and Drug Administration Department.
If information is not provided by the drug dealers, the license cancellation proceedings will be initiated under Section 18 (B), 66 (1) of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940.
