Centre reviews crop damage after heavy rains, hailstorms; assures support to farmers

Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has taken cognisance of heavy rainfall and hailstorms reported across several states, directing officials to assess the extent of crop damage and coordinate with state authorities.
The minister has asked officials from the Agriculture Ministry to immediately review the situation and gather detailed reports from affected regions. He also instructed them to remain in close contact with state governments to monitor the impact on standing crops.
Reassuring farmers, Chouhan said the Centre stands firmly with them during this difficult period. “Farmer brothers and sisters need not worry; the government is with them in this hour of crisis,” he said.
The minister will also hold discussions with agriculture ministers from the affected states to evaluate the damage and consider necessary relief measures.
