CDS General Anil Chauhan reviews operational readiness of Chinar Corps in north Kashmir

Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan on Saturday reviewed the operational preparedness of the Army’s Chinar Corps during his visit to strategically significant areas in north Kashmir.
During the visit, the CDS assessed the security situation and operational posture along the Line of Control (LoC) and commended the formation for its high standards of preparedness, professionalism, and doctrinal coherence.
At Baramulla, CDS Chauhan was briefed on future force applications and the infusion of advanced technologies into military operations, reflecting the Army’s focus on adapting to evolving security challenges.
Addressing officers of the Chinar Corps, the CDS highlighted the rapidly changing nature of warfare and stressed the need to transition from a domain-centric approach to multi-domain operations (MDO). He underscored that modern conflicts require seamless integration across land, air, maritime, cyber, space, and cognitive domains to achieve decisive outcomes.
Emphasising the importance of jointness, CDS Chauhan called for enhanced coordination among the armed forces through joint training, harmonised doctrines, and interoperable command-and-control structures. He noted that such integration is essential for ensuring synchronised and effective responses across all domains of warfare.
The CDS also urged the forces to adopt a forward-looking approach to tackle emerging threats, focusing on technological adaptation, cognitive resilience, and unified preparedness. He stressed that future readiness must be built on innovation, strategic foresight, and a whole-of-nation approach to security.
Reiterating the importance of operational excellence, CDS Chauhan encouraged all ranks to remain prepared for the full spectrum of future conflicts.
During his visit, he also interacted with representatives of the civil administration and local stakeholders in Baramulla, reviewing ongoing efforts towards nation-building in the region.
