Cabinet approves Rs 3,630 crore revised cost for connectivity corridor to Jewar International Airport

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Tuesday approved the revised capital cost of ₹3,630.77 crore for the construction of a Greenfield connectivity corridor linking the Noida International Airport to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.

The 31.42 km-long project, to be developed under the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM), will connect the airport with the Delhi-Faridabad-Ballabhgarh-Sohna spur of the expressway. The project will be implemented across the states of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.

According to the CCEA, the corridor will provide direct and high-speed connectivity from South Delhi, Faridabad and Gurugram to the upcoming airport, improving access and boosting logistics efficiency across the National Capital Region.

The proposed route will intersect with major transport corridors including the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, the Yamuna Expressway and the Dedicated Freight Corridor, enabling greater multimodal connectivity in the region.

The CCEA said that around 11 km of the project will be developed as an elevated highway, forming a key segment of the Greenfield corridor linking the DND-Ballabhgarh Bypass to Jewar International Airport and further connecting it with the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.

The elevated section is expected to support future urban expansion under the Faridabad Master Plan 2031 and accommodate planned high-density development in the region. The additional cost of the elevated stretch has been estimated at ₹689.24 crore, of which the Government of Haryana has agreed to contribute ₹450 crore.

The CCEA said the project will play a critical role in unlocking the economic potential of the Jewar Airport-Delhi-Mumbai Expressway corridor, while also strengthening regional connectivity and supporting sustainable urban development in Faridabad and surrounding areas.

Once completed, the corridor is expected to significantly improve airport accessibility, logistics efficiency and regional mobility across the NCR.
