BJP’s Bengal Victory Result of Workers’ Sacrifices: Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday described the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s performance in the West Bengal Assembly elections as a “historic win,” attributing it to the sustained efforts of party workers.
In a post on X, Shah said the party’s rise in the state reflected the perseverance and commitment of its grassroots cadre.
“This historic victory for the BJP in Bengal is the result of the sacrifices, struggles and dedication of countless workers,” he said.
He further stated that the mandate reflected public support for the party’s political approach and leadership.
In another post, Shah said the verdict demonstrated the electorate’s expectations for governance and development.
He also referred to the party’s commitment to the state’s development and to fulfilling public aspirations.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh said the election outcome reflected a shift in the political landscape of West Bengal.
According to data from the Election Commission of India (ECI), the BJP is leading in 95 seats and has won 111 out of 294 seats. The All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) is leading in 37 seats and has won 44.
Counting began at 8 am across multiple states, including West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam and the Union Territory of Puducherry. The process began with postal ballots, followed by counting of Electronic Voting Machines, with updates provided by the Election Commission. (ANI)
