Badhaal village declared as containment zone after 17 mysterious deaths

In Jammu and Kashmir, the Badhaal village in Rajouri district where 17 mysterious deaths occurred in the last 45 days, has been declared a containment zone. Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that the District Magistrate has imposed Section 163 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) sealing the affected families’ homes. The area is divided into three zones, with all public and private gatherings banned. Designated officials will monitor meals provided to families in the containment zones. Meanwhile, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo has directed stringent containment measures to prevent further loss of lives following mysterious deaths in Badhaal. In a high-level meeting with Health, Police, and District officials, he emphasized deploying adequate manpower, implementing robust SOPs, and ensuring the use of only tested food and water. Investigations are underway, with SIT and national diagnostic teams analyzing samples.
