Amit Shah hails Modi govt’s excise duty cut on fuel, calls it timely relief for citizens

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Centre’s decision to cut excise duty on petrol and diesel, describing it as a major relief for citizens amid rising global fuel prices.

In a post on X, Shah said that the move comes at a crucial time when the world is grappling with fuel shortages due to the ongoing West Asia crisis, which has pushed prices upward internationally. He noted that while several countries have increased fuel prices, the Modi government has chosen to reduce the burden on citizens.

Highlighting the significance of the decision, the Union Home Minister said the excise duty cut reflects the government’s people-centric approach and sensitivity in policymaking. He praised the Prime Minister for taking a step aimed at providing relief to the public during a challenging global situation.
