Amit Shah greets nation on Adi Shankaracharya Jayanti, hails his role in reviving Sanatan culture

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday extended greetings to citizens on the occasion of the Jayanti of Adi Shankaracharya, describing him as the “life force of Sanatan culture.”
In a message shared on social media, Shah highlighted the philosopher’s pivotal role in reviving Indian spiritual thought at a time when the country faced deep-rooted rigidities and cultural challenges. He noted that Adi Shankaracharya paved the way for the philosophy of Advaita Vedanta, enabling society to rediscover the vision of truth and reinforcing the foundations of Sanatan Dharma.
Shah further underlined that Adi Shankaracharya undertook extensive journeys across the country to promote unity and cultural preservation, establishing four mutts in different directions of India. Despite his brief lifespan, he mastered the Vedas and scriptures and authored lucid commentaries on the Upanishads, which helped steer society back towards Vedic wisdom.
Emphasising his enduring legacy, the Home Minister said that it was through the philosopher’s knowledge and insight that Indian culture witnessed a renewed phase of growth and vitality, adding that the nation continues to draw inspiration from his teachings.
