Amit Shah extends greetings on Jan Aushadhi Diwas 2026
Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah extended his greetings to beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Yojana (PMBJP) on the occasion of Jan Aushadhi Diwas 2026.
In a post on X, Shah said the initiative of the Modi government has been a historic step in relieving the poor from the financial burden of medicines while spreading awareness about generic medicines.
He said that around 18,000 Jan Aushadhi Kendras across the country are currently providing affordable and accessible medicines to the poor and needy.
Shah added that the scheme has helped citizens save over ₹40,000 crore on medicines.
