Rounak wins Boys’ Singles title at All India Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament

Raipur: City-lad Rounak Chauhan has emerged victorious in the Boys’ Singles category at the All India Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament held in Bhubaneswar. In the final match, Rounak defeated Rajasthan’s Sanskar Saraswat with a score of 21-14, 21-12.

En route to his title win, Rounak overcame Andhra Pradesh’s Gnan Dattu in the quarterfinals with a score of 18-21, 21-15, 21-13 and Haryana’s Manish Fogat in the semifinals with a score of 21-17, 21-15.

The top 8 players in the singles category and the top 4 pairs in the doubles category from this tournament will qualify for the selection tournament to be held in Delhi from August 10-13 for the Indian team’s participation in the World Junior Badminton Championship in China.

Notably, Rounak had previously represented India at the Junior Asian Badminton Championship in Indonesia.
