16 dead in Los Angeles wildfires, officails warn of worsening conditions

In the US, wildfires are currently burning around Los Angeles, with at least four major fires in the region, including the Eaton, Hurst, Kenneth, and Palisades fires, which have collectively spread across approximately 38,276 acres. Two other fires have now been reported as contained.
The wildfires have already claimed at least 11 lives, with 13 people still missing. More than 12,000 homes and other structures have been destroyed.
The Palisades Fire, which has been advancing eastward, is now threatening additional areas, including the affluent neighbourhood of Brentwood, home to the world-renowned Getty Center art museum, which has been evacuated.
A senior fire official reported that the Palisades Fire has reached 21,000 acres and is 11% contained. As a result, evacuation orders remain in place for large parts of the region, including Brentwood and Encino.
In addition to the Palisades Fire, more than 100,000 residents remain under evacuation orders as other fires continue to burn.
A forecast of strong winds, expected to last until Wednesday, raises concerns that the fires could spread further.
According to CNN, firefighters are racing against time in their battle to control the deadly blazes.
