City students win nine medals in Athletics championship

Students of the city-based NH Goel World School Athletics Team won nine medals in the School Game Federation of India Athletics Championship held recently at Dhrampura Ground Jagdalpur.

According to the information received, Ananya Pandey from Class XI won the 100m Race championship with Gold Medal in Under 17 Girls category and was also present a cash award of Rs 5000 for her excellence.

Apart from her, Ravneet Shahi Class XI too won the Javelin Throw Gold Medal in Under 17 Boys  as well as cash award of Rs 5000.

Ananya Pandey also won the 200m Race Gold Medal Under 17 Girls whereas Ravneet Shahi Class XI too won Shot Put Gold Medal Under 17 Boys.  Further Ananya Pandey also won 4x100m Relay Race Gold Medal Under 17 Girls.

Dhruvee Sahu Class XI  won the Javelin Throw Silver Medal Under 17 Girls and also won another silver medal in the Discus Throw event and made it three with a bronze medal in the Shot Put event of the championship
Vijay Kumar Yadav Class XI Javelin Throw Silver Medal Under 17 Boys. Officials informed that the students received total cash award of Rs 31,000 from the state government for their performance.
