DGP conducts review meeting of cases registered against tribals

Raipur, Jan 29: Acting on the directives of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Director General of Police (DGP) DM Awasthi on Friday chaired a review meeting of all cases registered against tribals across the state.
Initiating the meeting via video conference, the DGP directed his subordinates to undertake speedy trial of all such cases and minced no words in telling that any dereliction in this regard will not be tolerated at any cost. Friday’s meeting was attended by police officers from eight districts, namely, Jagdalpur, Dantewada, Bijapur, Kondagaon, Kanker, Sukma, Narayanpur and Rajnandgaon.
Before concluding, the DGP ordered for appointing nodal officers in all these districts to oversee the further trial of all such cases. The nodal officers appointed were ASP (Kanker) Gorakhnath Baghel, DSP (Dantewada) Shilpa Sahu, DSP (Ops, Jagdalpur) Aditya Pandey, DSP (Sukma) Asha Sen, DSP (Kondagaon) Deepak Mishra, DSP (Narayanpur) Unnati Thakur, ASP (Bijapur) Mirza Jiyarat Baig and ASP (Rajnandgaon) Kavilash Tandon.
The DGP ended the meeting saying that he will be soon conducting another review meeting to analyse the progress made in redressing all such cases by the respective districts.
