JMC initiates action against illegal construction

CENTRAL CHRONICLE IMPACT

Bhilai, Dec 02: Jamul Municipal Council (JMC) has finally initiated action against the illegal construction being made on the road at Ward 04 of the civic body. JMC has issued a notice to the encroacher instructing him to produce the documents related to the land and the building within seven days failing which the local civic body would initiate legal proceedings against him.

It needs to be mentioned here that one Guddu Gupta had encroached a major portion of the approach road which connects the Nandini Main Road to the residential area of Ward 04 in Jamul. Taking advantage of the Election Model Code of Conduct, he was constructing a building illegally on the encroached portion of the road. Locals were troubled with this construction as it was obstructing the only main road which connects the colony to other areas. The encroacher was leaving a narrow passage through which movement of heavy vehicles was not possible. The locals had submitted a complaint letter at JMC on November 25 but any action was not taken by the concerned officials. Central Chronicle prominently raised this issue in its exclusive news report published on December 01 after which the administration swung into action and notice was issued to the encroacher.

The notice states that the building is being constructed without the permission issued from the local civic body which is in violation of Section 187 and 223. The encroacher has been asked to produce the documents within seven days failing which legal action will be initiated. The notice has been pasted on the under-construction building of the encroacher.
