‘Patients who got cured of breast cancer made everyone aware’

A special cancer awareness program for breast cancer was organized by Sanjeevani Cancer Care Foundation on Wednesday, October 27 at Sanjeevani Cancer Hospital. In this program, old patients who were cured of cancer shared the story of their battle. On this occasion cancer experts of Sanjeevani Cancer Hospital were also present along with many old patients who were cured of breast cancer.
On this occasion, Dr Yousuf Memon, Director and Cancer Surgeon of the hospital said that the following symptoms should be kept in mind to prevent breast cancer – new lump in the breast or armpit, thickening or swelling of the part of the breast, burning in the skin of the breast. or dimples, redness or flaky skin in the nipple area or breast, nipple twitching or pain in the nipple area, nipple discharge other than breast milk with blood, any change in the size or shape of the breast and pain in any area of the breast.
Dr. Arpan Chaturmohata, Senior Cancer Surgeon of the Hospital discussed in detail about breast cancer through PPT. He further advised that in case of any apparent symptoms, you should contact your doctor about breast cancer screening, get familiar with your breasts through breast self-exam for breast awareness, abstain from alcohol as much as possible, exercise most days of the week, limit postmenopausal hormone therapy, maintain a healthy weight and choose a healthy diet.
Dr Aniket Thoke, Chemotherapy Specialist of the hospital, while explaining about the treatment of breast cancer said that the treatment of breast cancer generally depends on the stage of cancer. Chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery can be used to treat breast cancer. Dr. Ramesh Kothri and Dr. Satish Dewangan, Radiation Therapy Specialists of the hospital said that the sooner breast cancer is detected, the more the chances of successful treatment increase. One should be aware of breast cancer and try to spread breast cancer awareness among other people as well only then cases of breast cancer will be detected early and it can be treated appropriately.
On this occasion several old breast cancer patients of the hospital shared their experiences of their fight against breast cancer. Patients in the age group of 18 to 90 years and male patients who had been cured of breast cancer were also present in this program of breast cancer awareness.
